checkmyfile is the UK’s leading website for the provision of personal information to consumers. We were the first UK company to give both consumers and companies online access to consumer credit information, and the first to supply credit scores and credit ratings, totally free to UK consumers. Our registered customer base exceeds 1.4 million.
We currently serve well over 3 million page impressions per month and help more consumers to understand credit, credit scores and credit files than any other organisation in the UK. On a typical day we receive in excess of 25,000 unique visitors.

We use a combination of CPC and SEO to attract new visitors to checkmyfile, so we understand more than most your need to ensure that your advertising spend gets the right level of return. We will work with you to achieve this aim. Here are the six most frequently asked questions we are asked:
- What does it cost?
The minimum spend per month for any advertising placement is £500 plus VAT. There is no set up fee.
- How long am I committed for?
The minimum commitment is one month. If you commit longer, we reflect this in the pricing structure.
- What do I get for my money?
You get to deliver your message in an untargeted or targeted way, as you prefer.
- What guarantees do I get?
We don’t guarantee click through, or click to purchase rates, but we do guarantee the agreed level of page impressions per month.
- Can I have access to your registered customer user base for emailing/any other purpose?
No. We guarantee not to do this to our registered users. You can sponsor our regular email or newsletter mailings, though.
- Can we have a white labelled version of checkmyfile to integrate with our own website?
Yes. We have a standard agreement to facilitate this. There is a nominal set-up cost and a minimum revenue requirement. Lead time can be a matter of weeks depending on the complexity of your existing website.
We reserve the right to refuse to accept advertising for certain types of site. For example, we do not accept advertising from websites of an adult nature, or anything related to the unlawful practices of ‘credit repair’. Banners and buttons must be of standard size; pop-ups are not permitted.
