Trade Organisation

What is a Trade Organisation?

A Trade Organisation is a body that represents the interests of groups of competing companies within the same sector to ensure that differences aside, the common needs of everyone working in that industry are taken into consideration.

While most financial bodies in the UK are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to protect consumer interest, it's trade organisations who are most likely to put forward the case for what might be in the best interests from the industry's point of view before new regulations can come into place.

Typical bodies are the British Bankers’ Association (BBA) and the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA).
