All you need to know about achievements
Growing your credit score isn’t easy. So, to celebrate your journey to better credit health, we’ll award you with achievements each step of the way.
If you’re consistent with your activity and developing the habits to push your number in the right direction, you’ll unlock some shiny coins. They’ll keep you focused from your first steps, while you’re on a streak, and even when you’re at the peak of your credit health.
How do I earn achievements?
Unsure of what you need to do to unlock the next coin? Here’s the inside scoop on how to get that piggy bank filled.
First things first, collecting your coins can take as long as it takes to grow your score. It’s very much a marathon (not a sprint), as the coins are more reflective of milestones along your credit journey rather than quick wins. Here’s what you’re aiming for:
‘All signed up’ – means you’ve successfully created an account with Checkmyfile.
‘Keys to the kingdom’ – shows that you have a mortgage on your report.
‘You’re on a streak’ – means that the last six months of your payment history has been reported as ‘OK’.
‘All credit to you’ – shows that you’ve paid your credit card on time for six months straight.
‘Score starts with’ – there are five of these to collect based on the score bands. You’ll start unlocking them once your score reaches 500.
‘Roll on, roll on’ – you’ll get this one when your Electoral Roll listing shows with all three credit reference agencies.
‘Checkmate’ – shows where you’ve updated your report at least once a month, for six months in a row.
‘Payment hero’ – Zero negative markers. Your financial discipline deserves a cape.
‘Explorer coin’ – You’ve left no stone unturned, charting every section of your credit report.
Can I lose an achievement once I’ve earnt one?
We understand that priorities and circumstances surrounding your credit health can change.
Because of this, it’s possible for a coin to be revoked after you’ve unlocked it. But don’t worry if this happens, you can still turn things around and start rebuilding that credit health streak.
Do achievements affect my credit score?
Checkmyfile achievements have no impact on your credit score. They’re just our way of celebrating your wins on the journey to better credit health.
