It can take up to three months for updated Electoral Roll information to show on your credit report. And it can take at least a month from the date of publication for the credit reference agencies to be made aware of a new listing.

If your Electoral Roll listing isn’t shown by all three credit reference agencies, this is usually because of a formatting issue or because they didn’t receive your details from your local council.

If your listing isn’t showing, and you’re sure that you’ve used the correct name and address format on your Checkmyfile account, the best thing to do would be to get a letter of confirmation from your council. All you need to do is send us a copy of that letter and we’ll do the rest.

Alternatively, you can send the confirmation letter to each of the credit reference agencies and ask that they update your Electoral Roll details. Either way, you’ll be able to check that your listing appears correctly on your Checkmyfile report once updated.
