Why can I see information from over 6 years ago?

Account information will stay on your report for six years from the date of account closure – it will then drop off your report along with its history. To find out when an account will come off your report, click into the ‘Account Details’ tab and look for the ‘Reported Until’ field on the account. You can also see this by clicking the ‘Timeline’ tab on the Payments and Borrowing page.

Keep in mind that account history can display the full six years of activity. For example, if you closed an account five years ago, it would still show information from the six years prior to the closure when it was open and active.

Each of the credit reference agencies has a different reporting period for account information. Equifax shows up to four years of payment history, while Experian and TransUnion may show the full six years.
